Wide receiver Sam Hurd and safety Pat Watkins are each fifth-year veterans with solid special teams credentials -- an essential quality for reserve players. Hurd led the Cowboys in special teams tackles (19) last year; Watkins ranked second (18) and had the highest total in 2007 with 25.

But in this year's training camp, they're getting pushed by younger players with cheaper contracts.

I highly doubt Hurd or Watkins will make the final cut.
