Default Sign Him ????

Mark Gaughan, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills are not expected to designate DT Pat Williams their franchise player this offseason. The price to franchise tag Williams, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March, is the average of the top five salary cap figures at his position ($5.1 million).

Yes, SIGN HIM!

Sign him the first day of FA.
Fly him in, and hold him at gun point if required until he signs the contract.

I do not care if we go 3-4 or stay 4-3.
Pat Williams can be a big part of the puzzle.

I wouldn't hate it. I have a sneaking suspicion he is going to cause a bidding war with other teams thinking of switching.

I agree to a certain to a certain point........Have no problem as to how good a player he is but we need to remember we have other holes to fill.

If BP signs Bledsoe, how much? FS how much? CB?, OL?

He'd be perfect to man the middle in the 3-4, but he is 33 and fast coming up on the end of the line.

Either one...I'm pretty happy. Both can plug the middle...such a desperate need for this team!

I definitely like Ferguson better for the 4-3.

I think he can play the nose in the 3-4, just not completely sure because he hasn't done it.

I really like Pat Williams, but at 33, his price is going to be very high and almost not worth it.

Why not draft a DT then and have him for more than 2 or 3 years worth of contribution?

You mean like Willie Blade?

In principle, I agree with you.

In practice, we haven't been able to draft effectively at DL for many, many years now.

I'd rather just pay the price in FA and know what I'm getting than waste more draft picks here who end up being busts.
