Fry Sauce
I'm from the Northwest (Idaho) and whenever I ask restaurants for fry sauce, I usually get a really odd look.
Is it really that uncommon?
It's a mixture of mayonnaise and ketchup with some extra spices......preferably none though.
I know they have this stuff in Puerto Rico except they just call it "mayo-ketchup".
From what I have heard, Utah likes to lay claim to the origins but as far as I am concerned, it's an Idaho product.
I hate mayo but when you mix it with ketchup, its amazing.
Anyone else ever had it?
Anyone else know it by a different name?

being Puerto Rican I've heard Mayo-ketchup before but not fry sauce. I use mayo-ketchup on fried plantains.

Must be an Idaho thing because I've never heard of "fry sauce" either! When in high school there were some folks that put mayo & ketchup on their fries but there was no specific name for the mixture...
I HATE THE OFFSEASON...ESPECIALLY AFTER ANOTHER 8-8 CAMPAIGN

Never heard of it and it sounds nasty.

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.
If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.

Must be a local thing. I've been through all of the Gulf Coast states and have never heard the term.

Thousand Island Dressing?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thousand_Island_dressing
Thousand Island dressing is a salad dressing (a variant of Russian dressing), commonly made of mayonnaise, ketchup, Tabasco sauce and finely chopped vegetables, most often pickles, onions, bell peppers, and green olives; chopped hard-boiled egg is also common.

My wife is from South Africa and they eat steak fries covered with malt vinegar (called slap chips). It's nasty as hell.

My girlfriend is from Idaho and she was the first I had ever heard of the stuff. Haven't tried it yet, though. I'm not a big fan of mayo.

I think that's the "Secret Sauce" at the Bronco Burger.
"The ball ain't heavy."
