IRVING -- The bye week came at the right time for Dallas Cowboys' first-round draft pick Dez Bryant.
It gave his body and wallet time to heal.
One day after Bryant injured his hip after running into a photographer in a game against the Houston Texans, he picked up the tab for the now infamous $54,896 dinner at Pappas Steakhouse.
It was the annual offensive dinner paid for by the rookies. The other offensive rookies -- Sam Young, Chris Gronkowski and Phil Costa -- chipped in as part of their rookie initiation, but Bryant, who received $8.3 million in guaranteed money from his rookie contract, paid the most.
