IRVING — Keith Brooking had trouble tracking down ball carriers in the Dallas Cowboys’ 34-27 loss to Tennessee, but he cut to the heart of the matter with ease when asked a day later how the club can eliminate the mistakes that doomed it to a deflating 1-3 start.
“Don’t do it,” the linebacker said Monday. “It’s pretty simple.
“Everybody is looking for answers. That’s the answer — don’t do it.”
Committing 12 penalties for 133 yards and registering a minus-3 turnover ratio were among the most glaring of the Cowboys’ sins Sunday.
It was the kind of sloppy performance Dallas’ stunned fans have come to expect from a team that held so much promise at the start of the season.
