Default SA: Losing could spark youth movement for Cowboys

Losing could spark youth movement for Cowboys

IRVING — With their playoff hopes shattered, should the Dallas Cowboys turn to their younger players?

That’s a burning question the demoralized team has faced ever since a Giants linebacker broke Tony Romo’s collarbone nine days ago.

Without Romo, the Cowboys seem all but assured of having a losing season for the first time since 2004.

With that said, why not give younger guys such as inside linebacker Sean Lee, outside linebacker Victor Butler and safety Barry Church an opportunity?

Other youngsters in line for extended looks include quarterback Stephen McGee, safety Danny McCray, defensive lineman Sean Lissemore and offensive linemen Sam Young and Phil Costa, who started Sunday’s 35-17 loss to Jacksonville at left guard.

Lets see the youngsters. Let them learn and let us see if the potential is there or if we are going to find someone else to replace the quitters

yes and also call up bryan mccann of practice squad and lets see what he can do. We need corners and he's probally the best of the bunch we have on reserve. i thought he looked alright in preseason just need alittle more time to develope into a 4th cb for this season. With newman out we minus well rest him its not like were going to be in the playoffs so we minus well see who are the keepers out their. Maybe we find another diamond in the ruff like we did miles austin and tony romo, jay ratliff...etc.
