Default Austin Pettis: 2nd day reciever I love

Not that WR is or should be high on our priority list, I love that kid Austin Pettis out of Boise State.

stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player...layerId=232571

He's got great size 6'3" 205, and more importantly, he's a gamer.

He blocks kicks, plays coverage units on special teams and is a developing receiver with great body control.

I see him as a Sam Hurd-type with a little more overall ability. A team would do well to nab this kid somewhere between the 4th-7th round.

Sincere question, what does he offer that a guy like Manny Johnson doesn't?

well I ask you the same question

what does Petttis have to offer that a guy like Manny Johnson doesn't ?

I have watched the kid play - I would not be afraid of picking him

this kid does return kicks

well its a difference of opinions I guess - I see nothing special about Pettis

Pettis offers size 6'3 200+...he's real contributor on KR/PR coverage units...also seen him block kicks...and is a pretty good receiver in his own right: 35 TDs, 2,300+ yards on 188 rec. (still half a season remaining this year...)

I'm not knocking Derrell Johnson-Koulianos at all, that's why I qualified my question with "sincere."

I haven't studied Koulianos' game at all, but from the highlights he seems to have a pretty similiar game, frame and production to Manny.

BTW, I think you got have some special quality if you've racked up 35 TDs (and counting) as a receiver.
