Well THIS ought to get you fired up!
Just because it might be fun to drop another bomb on the board--JJT is saying that "insiders" told him yesterday not to automatically count out Vinny. He's saying that means there's a possibility Vinny might be brought back as well.

The point is, according to JJT, is that if we are doing good and something happens to Deadslow the we would want a Vet QB as a backup rather then a pup. I think its BS but I am sure it will happen just because its BS

It's funny, because I was thinking about this possibility last night (albeit to myelf, so there is no proof anywhere that I'm not a lying bastid).
Testaverde proved last season he's a good backup. He was solid at times, and never really the "reason" we lost. But it was clear he was overmatched as a 16-game starter...in other words, perfectly suited for a backup role.
It wouldn't surprise me if, since Parcells seems to be aiming for the playoffs this season, they bring Testaverde back too.
With all that said, I don't care for the move at all...but it wouldn't surprise me if it was made.
Henson's gotta be waking up every morning thinking ?! LOL. Hopefully it'll work out well for him in the end. We'll see.

I'll believe this when I see it.
If true, it also confirms the Cowboys have no clue.

I think Romo is gonna be the one thinking ? If Vinny is signed too Romo is as good as gone.

Henson needs to watch out. He may find Ray Lucas replacing him on the roster as the team's 'quarterback of the future.'

I dont see why this pisses so many people off!!! First why all the love for Henson, he is a project, give him time to learn and grow, at least 2 years away from being a productice player, assuming he can be. So we grab Bledsoe, great contract and all, to be the QB for those 2 years. Well, if we draft well, grab a couple FA's, we could compete again in the weak NFC. Assume we are 8-4 next year, needing 2-3 wins to get in the playoffs, Bledsoe goes down, a vet QB (Testaverde) is a better option than Henson. There is nbody here that would be happy if a good season went down the tanks due to not having a backup ready to play. Face it Henson isnt ready!!!! Forget Romo, he is a never will be, ultimate 3rd stringer. I could live with a Bledsoe, Testaverde, Henson trio....Give Henson time, playing time isnt always the answer either, they guy just hasnt played alot of football, he needs to lewrn the game first, then play some....

I agree with Dale. Poor Henson must feel more "protected" then the President at this point and if it does happen that would make Romo odd man out, poor Nors.

I'm actively trying to get info on this
If Drew Henson is quitely being shopped.
It would make no sense to bring VT back versus keeping Romo/Henson. Fact is Bill went 2004 with Henson/Romo as back up. And 2003 with Chad Huttz as backup. He can go with Romo/Henson.
Unless he has put Romo ahead of Drew and feels that now is maximum time to trade Henson. 49ers for their #2 which is a late #1?
Personally - I don't want VT back in any scenario.
I would trade Henson for a late #1 or a second rounder though.

Hey guys - nice board - first time poster here.
Why would Parcells give himself the headache of a QB controversy? Look at the Bulger/Warner, Brady/Bledsoe, Feely/Fiedler hoopla that has preoccupied those other teams over the last few seasons.
It's a huge distraction and hardly worth the headache.
(Sure, the Pats got by it OK, but it was a different situation and the controversy was ended as soon as possible.....unlike Martz and Wanny who put themselves in bad spots.)
