IRVING — It was a new day for the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday. They have a new coach, a new schedule, a new tempo, a new philosophy.
Their day started 45 minutes earlier than normal with a team meeting at 8:15 a.m., their first with Jason Garrett as the interim head coach. There were no domino games – or music – in the locker room.
They were in full pads for practice, something they rarely did under Wade Phillips. Their practice was faster and more intense, with players required to run even when they were leaving the field. They weren’t allowed to sit on the coolers on the sideline.
It was the same kind of different as Garrett.
