Broaddus: Cowboys might be interested in Jason Allen...Texans claim him
BryanBroaddus Bryan Broaddus
Former Dolphins CB Jason Allen that is on waivers will not be claimed by the Cowboys because of his contract but if free they might look...

Just off phone w/always-easygoing Jason Garrett for Fri GamePlan column. Not so easygoing now. Two words come to mind: no+nonsense.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

The Cowboys need more depth at CB. I can't believe they half-***ed it this season with only three.

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.
If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.
Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

I'd love to bring him in. He can't be worse than what we have been playing like.

Move Ball to CB and let Church start. There can only be so many changes at one time otherwise you can't judge what's working or not.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Why did Houston take on his contract? I know their secondary is weak but goodness.

as bad as the FS-DB situation is now, I think you have to consider just about anything at this point. Obviously Allen has his faults otherwise he wouldn't be available. He still may be worth a look for the rest of the year. He's still relatively young and has some talent. We probably ask our safeties to do less than any team in the league within the scheme. I sincerely think 90% of the safeties starting in the NFL can perform better than the guys we have right now.

oh well...
when you're desperate you have to gamble. Houstons poor secondary play is the biggest reason we have our only win this year. They're still in the hunt and decided to take a risk on a guy with some talent

Actually, they've really always had four. Problem is, one's been playing safety.
There's always more to the story.

I guess they figure they are just that far away from becoming a superbowl contender and maybe Allen will help them over that hump? Lord knows they playing better ball then I thought they would.
I was hoping the boys would claim him, but we will see what happens.
Step aside for the Cowboys from Hell!!!!!

Allen is on the last year of his deal. Houston is desperate. Not the big of a risk either way.
