Default SA: No quit in Garrett-led Cowboys

Tom Orsborn

RVING — Nose tackle Jay Ratliff and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys will hold their heads high this weekend.
With the gut-wrenching 30-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints, the Cowboys (3-8) are guaranteed their ninth non-winning record since Jerry Jones bought the franchise in 1989 and their first since finishing 6-10 under Bill Parcells in 2004.

But the players and coaches left the locker room Thursday night preferring to dwell on how they overcame a 17-0 first-half deficit and nearly toppled the defending Super Bowl champions.

In first half of the game, the Cowboys played awful. In the 2nd half it showed they obviously had been some significant adjustments which is why the game seemed to turn around. Really sorry we lost this game in the end but gotta admit it was a great game that we almost won. It was entertaining & the team played hard with a lot of guts.

It fills so different after losing this game then losing any of the first batch. Nobody can call this team a quitter anymore. Plus we also know with a few changes on this team next year, particularly on the OL & in the secondary, this team will be significantly better in 2011--if there is any football then.

I hope/believe we can win at least 3 more games. Coming from behind like we did to almost win this game certainly should have shown the Cowboys just how good they can play if they play smart & tough football. Again they must cut down on mistakes & secondary needs to play better--although with our 2 safeties--can't see that happening.

Do believe we can beat the Colts if we cut back on our mistakes but sure hope we play better in the first half so we can limit Manning's damage and not have to come so far back. Believe we also can beat Arizona & the Redskins. Also sure hope we beat the Eagles at least once--don't want to see East team with 2 wins over us in any year--particularly the Eagles cause I really don't like them and their HC.

I'm proud of the way they fought back in the Saints game... However you'd like to see them not start off so slow.
