Default Has anyone seen Shrek 2 yet?

If you liked the first one the second is MUCH better.

Well to each his own I guess.

I submitted to the pleas of my daughters this weekend and took them. I would classify it as just ok.

Same message (albeit a good one), explored in the same manner pretty much. Nothing real fresh and new.

My daughters had moved on from the experience within about 15 minutes. A film shouldn't leave you that quickly if its up to par IMO.

I'd simply rate it ok.

I'll split the above two reviews down the middle, and say that it was exacly on par with the original (which is rare).

My boys really enjoyed it (as did their Dad).

I've seen Van Helsing and I'd see Shrek 1 and 2 again before I'd see it again. It was too much like League of Overly CGI'd Gentlemen which blew chunks.

well no accounting for taste i guess
i thought LOEG was pretty good
not as good as VH
in fact i have seen VH twice!
i don't know what's not to like
2 1/2 hours of non-stop horror themed action
no academy awards for sure but very entertaining

as for shrek, i liked it - it was pretty funny
even let myself get roped into going a second time
but the new one was booooooring to me
a couple of chucklers but no really good laughs

but hey, that is just me - i go to movies alot!
i am not easily impressed, especially with animation

So you would recomend Van Helsing, Ark?

I've been wanting to watch that.

The action was good but the cgi was a little too much for my tastes.

I saw Shrek 2 with the kids on Friday and I can't imagine a scenario where I'd rate S2 better than S1 ... well, maybe if I confused the two in a conversation is a scenario I guess. I didn't think S2 was a bad movie - about what I expected - but I would never say it was better than S1. Heck, my 7 and 9 yr olds were saying the same thing!

personally, i would say "hell yeah!"
the story was not super but it did cleverly tie the dracula, werewolf, frankenstein and Dr Jeckyl & Mr Hyde stories together.
i thought the werewolves were the most believable looking i have ever seen
dracula's vampire persona could've been better
but his Count persona was excellent
and the frankenstein monster was also excellent
hell i think the whole thing was very good
so again i say "hell yeah!"
go see it!!
