Back To Doomsday
new plan as follows:cb-sign ken lucas, young athletic, physical corner dt-sign pat williams, huge load clogg up running lanes and has the burst to wreak havok in the backfeild. lb-since coakley will probably get released please sign hartwell, outstanding young olb with a nose for the ball. fs-theres a reason the ravens d has been so good and will demps was a part of its strong young nuclus. rt-simple mckenzie is as good as signed right now now for the draft:#11-DERRICK JOHNSON,please????i can settle for m williams or merriman but if hes on the board please GRAB HIM! #20 depending on whether we take merriman but i think cody or erasmus will slip to us at this spot take your pick. #42-my personal favorite , sleeper-you can never have enough secondary depth-cb-brandon browner, tough , long[6'4]quick,and plays with fire...surefire non-bust[i really wouldnt be mad grabbing him at 20 , its not to often to get a great tall cb. #103wr-craphonso thorpe strong and has decent speed and good hands good playmaking ability if hes still there. #139fb matthew tant great runblocker needs to work on pass protection ..the rest is special teams needs but overall if we look anything close to this after the draft i will be extremely excited to say the least.best of all its realistic.i hope...lol

A little hard to read that because no paragraphs but good post.
I like Derrick Johnson as well. Forced 9 fumbles last year. Not saying he can do that in the NFL, but no one we have could do it in college.
I won't be upset at all if we end up with Merriman though. This kid lives and breathes football. He reminds me a bit of Tedy Bruschi in that sense. All he wants to do is play football as hard as he can and leave nothing on the field.
Antaaj Hawthorne at #20 would be a great pickup too.

Browner's size is unreal. I've seen him play live once and on TV a couple of times. I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up as a Safety for some team, but anyone who keeps him at CB won't be disappointed IMO. I wouldn't be upset if we took him at all.

He's 6'4" which is unreal. You'd think he was gangly or slow, but on the field he is not at all. He has "football speed" and that is always good.

We have been doing that for years. The way our special teams played last year, either we can't draft special team players worth a shet or we can't coach special teams players worth a shet.
The way New England plays special teams with their starters and key people I am all for drafting position players with some athletic ability and some brains we can try to turn into pro football players. Granted our history with that isn't great either. I'd rather gamble draft picks on those type players however.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Well Said........Whether it be the coaching(or lack there of) or the players it is certain we need to do better.

We need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel and bring in football players that can play. Stop forcing square pegs in round holes!!!
Oh yeah, morning cbz!

Derrick Johnson is my fav pick for us this year and I so much want the Cowboys to get him. I have watched him for his entire time at UT and this guy plays from sideline to sideline.
There are others that I would be happy with but only if DJ is off the boards by the time we pick.
