Strengths: Freeney is one of the most feared edge rushers in the NFL. He is a very disruptive player. He has quickness off the ball and speed to the edge. Freeney ran a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash on his Pro Day in 2002. He has several favorite moves, including a double spin back inside and a spin away from the chip and a spin on a quick set. Even when blockers know some version of his patented spin move is coming, they have a hard time stopping him. Freeney takes good angles and is a solid tackler.
Weaknesses: Since he is small for a defensive end, Freeney can get overpowered at times by bigger offensive linemen who use their hands. Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek accused Freeney of quitting on some plays in their game earlier this season after Freeney got frustrated with double teams. Freeney, 30, is starting to show his age. He has not played a full 16-game season since 2006.
