StrTgrm: Cowboys can't escape Eagles, or reality of a dismal season

ARLINGTON -- Let's be honest, the past few weeks have been fun for the Dallas Cowboys.

It was indeed a nice little run.

The Cowboys were feisty, resilient, and even offered a little hope.
But the inevitable was always out there lurking in the shadows like the bad dream this season truly is.

With Sunday night's 30-27 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Cowboys Stadium, the Cowboys officially have been eliminated from the playoffs.
It didn't matter how well the Cowboys played for much of the game against NFC East-leading Eagles (9-4) -- making it look like a battle for division supremacy as it was intended to be this season, rather than just the meaningless game it was for Dallas.
