That includes the full cap charge for any players who might need to restucture, such as Dexter Coakley ($4,718,666 cap number, but only $1,833,332 if we cut him before Wednesday).
[View Full Quote] We have 63 players either under contract or tendered for 2005, and players 40-51 and 52-55 all have base salaries of $305,000. Because of the Rule of 51, that means any player we sign will bump $305,000 off our salary cap when his cap number is added to it. And any player we cut will add a $305,000 player to the cap. So, if we sign a free agent with a cap number of $1 million, our cap space will drop by only $695,000 (instead of $1 million) because he will bump a $305,000 player out of the top 51. And if we cut Coakley, for example, our cap space will go up by only $2,535,334 (instead of $2,885,334) because a $305,000 player will move into the top 51.

So since Coakley has been cut, by Adams calculations, we are now at $18,799,696.00 under.
Also, just wanted to bump this from page 2 so others could see what Adam does for this site.
Thanks Adam...
That's why they play the game
