Clarett - If he drops to the 5th, wouldja?
I'm reading ESPN's article about what happened to Clarett at the Combine ( http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft0...ory?id=2001738 if you missed the link on the Zone) during the last few months and his weight problems, and I'm thinking he still doesn't look like that bad an athlete. The kid lost 16 pounds in little over a month to get rid of that Greg Jones physique he tried to put on.
What he needs is a professional trainer, some of the resources the Cowboys have. I'm a little worried about his attitude. He does seem like a baby the way he deals with pressure but if you can't crack it under Bill Parcells, you can't crack it under anyone.
I'd like to see the Cowboys be in a situation like New Orleans was with Deuce McAllister and Ricky Williams, or Green Bay was with many of their backup QBs under Favre. I'd like to see the Cowboys draft a project, eventually give him a chance to play and then profit from it with a high draft pick. I figure if Clarett drops to the 5th round, we really have nothing to lose.

Unquestionably yes. 5th round is all practice squad or ST players. Clarett could make a final roster easily. He would be a steal at 5th or later. Im sure his stock will rise with a good preformance on the 8th at his pro day.

No Give me Brandon Jacobs in round 4 or 5. Let Clarett sign as a UDFA in Cleveland or Cincinnati
I had an apartment and I had a neighbor, and whenever he would knock on my wall I knew he wanted me to turn my music down and that made me angry 'cause I like loud music... so when he knocked on the wall, I'd mess with his head. I'd say, "Go around! I cannot open the wall! I dunno if you have a doorknob on your side but over here there's nothin'. It's just flat."

I would be open to it ,however his interview would have to show me more than I have seen from him. Right now he looks to be a bust

If we didn't have so many other needs I might be inclined to agree with you. I just don't think this kid can come to a team, get minimal chances and be happy. The media has a fascination with him and even if it is obvious to everyone else in the world that Julius is better, he won't keep his mouth shut. He will try and sow discord on this team and you can't have that while trying to build a class organization.
I would not draft Clarett, but if he goes undrafted (doubt it) I would offer him a shot in Free Agency and at starting out on the Practice Squad.
He just has high maintenance written all over him already and he's not accomplished anything positive in 2+ years.
