Seahawks sending LB Simmons packing?
Clayton Quick Hits....
---------------
The Seahawks are considering cutting outside linebacker Anthony Simmons. Even though Simmons is considered one of their best play-makers on defense, the team has tired of his long struggles with injuries. A couple of years ago, Simmons had 4.4 speed, and he still is fast. They loved him in a division that featured Marshall Faulk because Simmons had the ability to cover him. Now, the Seahawks think he is overpaid and want to move a different direction. He has a $500,000 roster bonus due by March 7.

If true. are they thinking?
I had an apartment and I had a neighbor, and whenever he would knock on my wall I knew he wanted me to turn my music down and that made me angry 'cause I like loud music... so when he knocked on the wall, I'd mess with his head. I'd say, "Go around! I cannot open the wall! I dunno if you have a doorknob on your side but over here there's nothin'. It's just flat."

How about sticking to the matter at hand? Is this guy worth taking a look, even though it says he's had injury problems?

Sorry to digress Your Highness . I think he has the same rap sheet as Kendrel Bell. That being said, Bell has experience in a 3-4 scheme, plus he's slightly bigger. I think the knock on Simmons is he needs to be protected. He is a bigger Dexter Coakley. Simmons is a perfect weakside backer in the 4-3. If we stay 4-3 and need a weakside backer to flow to the ball, I would take DJ with the first pick. Just my .02

Nah, let's get back to Nate and how he got busted for weed, and how he probably tried coke a few times.
In all seriousness, Anthony Simmons is a big LB. He will probably be looked at, at least on paper by Jerry and Bill.

He's listed at 6"0' and 240lbs. He's not small yet he is not big, but he doesn't take on blocks well. I think he is worth a look at ILB in the 3-4. Again, Bell or Hartwell would be a better fit. In my opinion.

I think you're right to a degree. I don't think we're completely going away from the 4-3 THIS year. That's why I see him as an option. And if he's a player, maybe he can be effective in the 3-4 as well.

I think he can be a player. He's only 28. I think he can play weakside backer in the 4-3, and play ILB in the 3-4. I think he would be a nice blizter in a 3-4 scheme. Plus, he does play very well in coverage, something that neither Kendrell Bell or Ed Hartwell are good at. He is worth looking at no doubt.

Don't mind them. Whack them with a rolled up newspaper if they pee on the carpet. Yes, Anthony Simmons is a very good LB and would make an instant impact on this defense if we went after him. I like him better than a lot of the names circulating on this forum at LB.

I've always heard it's best to rub their noses in it first. Behavioral reinforcement is something I've been learning alot about at school lately...
I'd heard one of the main reasons why Seattle's run D got gashed was because he was injured. I don't know if fans can wait til March 7 to see if he's gonna be available, considering you got people on hear counting down til midnight as if the 'boys are gonna sign someone at 12:01.
