Tim McMahon Babe indicates we signed Henry

I heard this from another...but deal is only 5 million SB ...4 year 12 million..
A great deal if this is true...via babe!!

Do not hold me to the contract numbers...I am just reporting what I was told from a poster who said he heard this but if he is wrong poo poo on him.

If true it is a great deal for us!!

Where'd you get this? That is a good deal if it is true. I can swallow that, easy.

I doubt Babe came on TV at 1 in the morning, and how would he have reported the amount of the contract before free agency even began?

Interesting if true. It just seems weird Babe would indicate a contract has already been agreed upon with the financial numbers in place when he knows it would be tampering if true.

I know, I know...the tampering stuff is getting old. But if the team already had the contract ready to be signed well before free agency started, and the numbers were already being reported publicly, that's the kind of the thing the league might wonder about.

I am unsure Dale..but John Claytons article argues teams almost had to negotiate due to the GM meetings and such.

I think this may be true...but do not hold me to the numbers..but if the niumbers are right...WE DID VERY WELL!!

Yeah, no doubt, if those numbers are true that's quite impressive.

Leaves us with cash to cover Ferg and others...only 4.25 or so a year for a young, solid corner if indeed true.

Well, the Ferguson deal was done before today. You know it took more one hour and 6 minutes to work out a deal. Is that tampering? I don't know.

It wouldn't surprise me is the Henry deal was already done and signed but wasn't submitted until midnight. For some reason, several teams have been working on contract details before today.

I remember reading a Lenny P article that was talking about the leeway this year in dealing with FAs before FA started.
