Winfield v. Henry
I don't get this one bit. Last year, we refused to "overpay" for average talent and passed on the likes of Winfield- this year we pony up a $10-!2 mil signing bonus for Henry... anyone remember what Winfield got from the Vikes??? Very confusing to me unless BP and JJ admit they totally blew it last year.

If I remember right, he signed for $30 million and a $12 million signing bonus over six years.
EDIT: Ignore the above comments...Adam posted the correct numbers in a different post.

Henry is a better player. I don't think Winfield (aka mighty midget) is worth the money he got.

They did blow it. BUT, I would rather have Henry than Winfield. Henry has just as good coverage skills, but is taller and a better run supporter than Winfield.

It is very easy - The Cowboys didn't think that Winfield's money demands met his talent and refused to overpay.

I had just posted this in another thread -- Antoine Winfield last year got a $10.8 million bonus on his six-year deal worth $34.8 million ($5.8 million per year). He also got $18 million over his first three years.
Remember, there's inflation in the NFL every year. This year, the salary cap went up 6.1 percent. So in this year's money, Winfield's contract equates to an average of $6.15 million per season, with a signing bonus of $11.46 million.

Winfield got nearly 12 million up front as I recall...he had 6 picks in 5 seasons in Buffalo...Henry has 17 in 4 and is alot bigger and just as (if not) faster than Winfield

Lets be real here guys-
Winfield is small but he tackles outstandingly and is a fiery competitor
The advantage Henry has over win is obviously his size and his ability to play the zone -
man to man winfield is the better of the two

Henry isn't close to Winfield in pure coverage ability

People are making Winfield look like he sucks when that's just not the case. He's a good player.

Winfield doesn't get interceptions, period.
That is kind of like a quarterback who doesn't throw touchdowns.

don't kid yourselfs guys
winfield is probably the best tackling CB in the league right now, he lays some nice shots. he plays real physical coverage that not many CBs can match.
hes not the best CB in the league and was overpaid by Minny but Henry isn't even close to this guy

I'd say Henry is better suited, physically, to play against the bigger WRs in the division. Winfield's height was probably the knock against him, and the reason the Cowboys wouldn't field him the bigger bucks. Just imo.
