Of course they shouldn't stay out of the process, they represent the players and everyone invited IS going to be in the union, at some point.

They can CHOOSE to stay out of it, but they have an interest in it as much as anyone else.

Then again, I hate what draft day(s) has become, so maybe I'm biased.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

The NFLPA now says boycotting the Draft is "just a recommendation." (wink, wink)

NFLPA says draft boycott is just a recommendation

3/15/2011 6:22:03 AM

On Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the NFLPA is putting into place a plan that would prevent each top college prospect from attending next month's draft in New York, according to multiple league sources.

Later Monday, a source said the edict is a recommendation, not an explicit order not to attend the draft. The source said the union plans to give the prospects the "same experience down the street."

For one, we are hoping the draft prospects take to heart this recommendation the same way they might have taken the NFLPA's agreement on a rookie salary cap which would have cost most of these top prospects a significant amount of money.
