For everyone involved, the worst fears were realized when the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL Players Association and the league expired at the eleventh hour on Friday.
No party will emerge from the fray unscathed and significant collateral damage could be inflicted upon all 32 teams, especially those that have recently hired coaches who are in the process of implementing new playbooks.
