All-woman jury clears Girls Gone Wild boss of causing emotional distress
April 8, 2011 - 2:50PM
An all-woman federal jury has decided that Joe Francis, founder of the Girls Gone Wild video franchise is not liable for the emotional distress four anonymous plaintiffs claimed to have suffered from appearances in one of his videos.
The verdict, handed down on Thursday, followed an eight-day trial in Panama City, Florida.
The jury of eight women began deliberating late on Wednesday morning and took 14 hours to reach a decision.
The lawsuit claimed Francis exploited the then underage women by filming them flashing their breasts and engaging in other sexual activities for his soft porn videos.
It also claimed they were ridiculed, ostracised and forced to leave school when videos were released.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
