they seem to really want to grab AJ Green, Julio Jones or Patrick Peterson

Good luck with that.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

They would be better staying at 27 and grabbing Torrey Smith or Jonathan Baldwin

When SDogo wrote his piece last Sunday, he mentioned that there was a team in the 20's that had made a "very attractive offer" to get up to 9. He said he didn't know who the team was, or what the offer was, but said it was something that Jerry was keeping in his pocket for now. I imagine this is the scenario of which he spoke.
There's always more to the story.
