DeMarco Murray is headed to Big D. Oklahoma’s all-time touchdown record holder was selected by Dallas in the third round of the NFL Draft last month. Murray, who could compete for playing time immediately, spoke with The Oklahoman about his new football home.

• Looks like you’re going into a good situation in Dallas?

“It’s a great opportunity for me. Not that far from Oklahoma. Just a great situation. Cowboys, America’s team. Winning organization. I’m just pumped and blessed to have the opportunity.”

• You grew up a Cowboys fan, right? “I did. My family loved the Cowboys. I didn’t pay too much attention to football growing up, especially at an early age. But as the years went on, I definitely began to become a Cowboys fan, too.”
