(Editor's Note: While there may be uncertainty surrounding the NFL this offseason, the regular-season schedule remains intact. With that, DallasCowboys.com will preview each game in a 16-part series, profiling each of the Cowboys' 2011 opponents with its offseason and draft news, along with both recent and overall history in the series. Today, the series shifts to Game 4 against the Detroit Lions.)
WHAT: Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys
WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 2, Noon (CST), FOX
WHERE: Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas
SERIES: Cowboys lead series 13-10
Storylines:
  • Same Ol' Lions? - It's starting to look like the Lions have turned the corner, especially in terms of adding talented players. Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Ndamukong Suh and Jahvid Best appear to be stars in the making. If they stay healthy and get a good supporting cast, this might be a much tougher Lions team than the one Dallas has beaten five of the last six meetings.
  • Can They Block Those Two? - That'll likely be the big question heading into the contest, referring to the Cowboys' ability to contain the defensive tackle duo of Suh and rookie first-round pick Nick Fairley. The beefy and talented combo is expected to be a formidable challenge for any team up the middle, especially a Cowboys squad that has struggled with its interior offensive line.
