Montrae Holland was better, but not better enough on Thursday. The Cowboys released him today, and signed long-time veteran Derrick Dockery.
The former Texas Longhorn had yo-yoed between Washington and Buffalo in an eight year career. Dockery, like Holland, is in the bigger-body category, at 6'6", 325.
His most important attribute may be his durability. Docker has started every game for his team between '04 and '09. Dockery brings his own set of questions. He was benched early last season by Mike Shanahan, who runs a zone running attack with many similarities to Dallas'. Dockery then injured a knee in November just after returning to the lineup...
There's no right way to do the wrong thing.
To compete for the playoffs, Dallas has to improve here: Only four sacks against Eli Manning over the past six games!
