Default Jim Harbaugh had early-round grade on Romo

David Garrard - QB - Jaguars
Then a Raiders assistant, current 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh reportedly had an "early-round grade" on free agent David Garrard when he came out of East Carolina in the 2002 draft.
Harbaugh also had an early-round grade on Tony Romo, who went undrafted, and "late-round" grades on David Carr (1st overall) and Joey Harrington (No. 3).
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee is just speculating, but seems to believe Garrard will at least be considered by the 49ers. Garrard's agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter Wednesday that he's gotten calls from five unnamed teams.

Harbaugh is going to turn the 49ers back into a top notch organization. It will take some time, but I really think he can do it.

Well, wanting anyone more than Garrett was pretty ignorant IMO, but at least you wanted someone I think will be good.

Cowboys and 49ers are starting over with good young coaches at the same time. In a year or two we're very possibly going to see a resurgence of the Cowboys-49ers rivalry between two strong playoff caliber teams.

Trent Dilfer: "Tony [Romo] has greatness in him. I think when you talk to other people that really play the quarterback position, there's a few guys that really have incredible greatness in them, and Tony is one of them. I think the issue here is he needs more help from his teammates. I think they are not nearly as talented as people say they are, from 1 to 53. I'm talking about the total roster.”
