Default Officials say Texas just finished the hottest June - August On Record In U.S.

LUBBOCK, Texas — Weather officials say Texas just finished the hottest June through August on record in the U.S.

National Weather Service meteorologist Victor Murphy told The Associated Press Thursday that Texas' 86.8 degree average beat out Oklahoma's 85.2 degrees in 1934.

That Dust Bowl year is now third on the list for the three-month span, behind No. 2 Oklahoma's heat wave this June through August (86.5 degrees).

Congrats. We did it. But may we never approach it again.

It has been a hot one this year, thankfully cooler temps the last few days have made things much better. Still need some rain very badly

48 hours of non-stop rain here in DC. WG's love letters to me are getting soggy.

i'm an industrial electrician who works in a refinery outdoors here in sweeny, texas. the temperature inside the refinery is about 10 to 15 degrees hotter than the actual recorded temp.

i have to wear frc coveralls 10 hours a day.

i have lived in this area for 44 years.

this has been the most brutal, driest, hottest summer ever in my 44 years.

No biggie. They didn't stay dry for very long once they were delivered.

Lets see.....last week has been 70s to low 80s.

Next week has a high of 82 and a few upper 70s thrown in.

Yep, screw the midwest and screw the south.

Maybe this winter I will change my mind about the south but the midwest can stay screwed.

You can't make somebody love you. You can only stalk them and hope for the best.

In the words of Glenn Close, "I will not be ignored."
