Screw em then.
One player isn't going to bring us to the promised land. Too many holes to fill.

First Rounder
Lets face it, we have done poorly with many of our late first round picks. I'd rather have a proven commodity with a 20, than another Ekuban or Shante Carver. If you drafted an 8 to 10+ sack guy with a 20 you'd be happy. We can essentially do that with Howard.

Will Jerry Give in?
I hope Parcells does not let him mortgage the future for a 28/29 year old DE.
We can gear up in draft.

NFL | Hartwell Not Going to Highest Bidder? - from www.KFFL.com
Tue, 15 Mar 2005 11:12:52 -0800
Clare Farnsworth, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports free agent LB <A href="http://www.kffl.com/player/138/nfl"> Ed Hartwell's (Ravens) agent, Harold Lewis, said Hartwell is not going to sign with the "highest bidder" and is going to sign with the team he wants to play for the most.

The question is who so far has bid on him? Maybe it's me, but I haven't seen anything that suggests he's gotten much action.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

True, but as the pool starts to dry up, there aint gonna be any keepers left, better get at least some quality, before the bottom feeders show up.

Give the Saints...
Peterman, I'm with you. The draft is deep in DEs and we can get a good one at a modest price and could possibly have him for 10-12 years.
There are too many holes and intangibles for us to think we can make it to the SB this year. Why blow everything and then be in Cap abyss and have to start over.
We have some fine young talent in people like Roy, Newman, Witten, JuJo, Al, etc. and with a great draft this year, along with the signing of Henry, etc. we could be competitive and with a good draft and FA signing of young talent next year, we could be in great shape in another year or two.
It was when JJ wanted to make a last ditch run at the SB that he gave up 2 first rd picks for Galloway. He needs to have a plan and then stick to it. He keeps saying he has a plan but then he makes decisions that makes you wonder what the plan is.
Why is it that we have to put all our eggs in one basket and then go SB or bust when we will most likely bust? Is there no tomorrow? Is the world coming to an end day after tomorrow? Have we forgotten the Patriots' plan that has worked so effectively?

But you wanted them to sign a 31 year old defensive back coming off a major injury in Ty Law.
You were just fine with signing a 28/29 year old cornerback in Anthony Henry,a 32/33 year old guard in Marco Rivera, a 31 year old defensive tackle in Jason Fergeson, not to mention your infatuation with the signing of 33 year old Drew Bledsoe - heck he's even your avatar!
For you to start complaining about acquiring a player because of his age reeks of hypocrisy. You wanted to give up a first rounder for Law last year when he was 30,but it's not OK to give a second for a 28 year old.........

Sorry
Sorry for the double post. When I clicked on the first time I received a message that I could not post a message for 30 seconds after I had made another post.
Since I had not made a post 30 seconds earlier I clicked the submit button again.
Sorry.
