Too bad we got rid of Jamar Martin, otherwise we would already have that hard nosed FB.

Campbell TE on Left
Flo at LT
Peterman at LG
Johnson at C
Rivera at RG
Alex Barron at RT
Jason Witten at TE on Right
Key at WR out wide and in motion
Larry Allen at FB leading
Julius Jones at RB.
QB just has to get it in his hands and that's a score.

Now that would be something to behold!!
With Campbell at 6'5" and 262(?), good size for a FB. Maybe not an every down FB, but it would make goal line situatons interesting.
That's why they play the game

Echo that. My least favorite move of 2004 by a wide margin.

Absolutely great post. Give me Barron, Howard, and Bullocks right now and I will be ready to start this season and have some high hopes.

I still feel that Detroit is gonna get this guy. not mcuh depth at OT for these guys. They didn't resign Stockar McDougle. Lions went from having a strong 2003 campaign with only 11 sacks then in 2004 they had 37 sacks allowed.

If I were them I'd draft Heath Miller the TE from UVA and further make that offense loaded. Go T in the 2nd.

I'd prefer Brown over Barron. A true RT and road-grader. From all I've read, Barron is a tactician and not a mauler. A pure LT.
No more converted LTs into RTs or moving of Flo.

I'd take Brown at #20 for sure. Would love to see that happen.

I think them grabbing Marcus Pollard in FA and the fact that Miller could last in the bottom end of the first round keeps me from thinking that Detroit goes TE with number 10. THey can go either DE, LB or tackle.

Great first post? Yet the entire drafting and professional scouting community has him a top 10 stud.
I refrain from annointing this post as gospel.
Kids a top notch prospect.

You would have seen it in the films and believe me, the average fan would have seen it also. A blind man’s dog would have seen this type of athleticism and made sure his master knew about it. I don't know how credible this site is, but doesn't this part bother anyone else?
I'd prefer to see Dallas draft a playmaker at No. 11 ... someone who scores touchdowns in bunches or someone who gives quarterbacks nightmares.
The guys who do the grunt work can be picked later or added in free agency. I see teams like New England piece together a good line every year with solid, smart guys who don't blow assignments, while letting former first-rounders like Bruce Armstrong and Damien Woody walk.

I think drafting Jamaal Brown or Khalif Barnes or Elton Brown at 20 or later is more helpful to the offense and RT position than Barron at #11. There is nothing Barron can do that they cannot.

It is being reported that Alex Barron had his workout day and at 6’7”, he weighed in at 310 lbs to 320lbs (depending on who you believe) and that he was timed in the 40yd run at 4.87. This is a remarkable feat for a man his size. This is one of the most amazing stories to ever come out of the draft. This must be the fastest time for a man that size ever in the history of the draft. According to the reports (if you can believe them), he did not run any other agility drills, but he did do a vertical jump at an amazing 38 inches. Another amazing bit of athleticism because the best in this draft by the O-line men at the combine was about 35 inches.
[View Full Quote]Now with this bit of information, and the fact that Alex plays the LT position like Robert Gallery who was the 2nd pick in the draft last year, I would suspect that everyone associated with selecting players in the draft will now list Alex as the best player in this draft. I mean he is faster and bigger than Robert Gallery when he came out, so it stands to reason that a kid with the wingspan that Alex has and the fact that he has played the LT position for 3 to 4 years, would become the new darling of the draft.
Interestingly, nowhere in the two years of tape that I have on Alex nor in the other numerous times I have watched Alex play, have I ever seen the type of athleticism that he displayed in his workout out there on the field in a football game. I have seen him run many times and I’ll tell you that RB’s that run 4.60 and 4.75 have passed Alex like a 40 story building in the middle of Manhattan. I have never seen him once lead the way more than five to ten yards for a RB and if he doesn’t make a block, he just stops running. I have never seen him tackle anyone when the ball has been intercepted. With this new special speed, you would think that he would be on special teams making spectacular tackles or maybe on the defensive side of the ball making sacks or begging to be put into a game as a TE to catch a ball and have some tiny CB try to tackle him as he blows by everyone with this new remarkable speed.
I really thought from the film and the way he plays, that he would run the forty in about a 5.10 or 5.20 and I would not have been surprised -- nor would it had changed my profile of Alex -- if he ran a 5.30 to a 5.40. But this! This is just amazing!
