ID Game Release: Rage
I was set that I wasn't going to get this (even though I love ID's games)
Looks nice, but I just wasn't sure I wanted to spend money on this one. Then I watched this video. (well, some of it. It's a freaking hour long review of Rage!) They show a lot of cool stuff throughout it though.
It seems to be like a mixture of a FPS mixed with Oblivion sort of.
I don't play many games, but I'm looking at possibly buying three games now. Rage, BF3, and D3.
Formerly the notorious nyc!
I've got more red flags than Soviet Russia!
There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.
If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.
Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

I haven't really played games since I was a kid. My son has been playing my old PS2 for the last several years, but he's not much of a gamer and didn't play it very often. He's 10 now, starting to enjoy games a little more, and bought an Xbox last week. The only game we bought was Halo Reach, and it seems pretty cool so far.
I've seen Rage and it does look pretty cool. I don't know what FPS, BF3, D3, or Oblivion are. Is there one of those I should look at getting him? We're mainly shooter and fighting fans, and I've been looking at buying Gears of War III, Assasins, Fallout New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption, and Skyrim. Are any of these real good, or any I should stay away from?

I read an article that said it was getting mixed reviews. You may want to wait a few days and check metacritic for scores.

I read mixed too, but from what I've seen it's been mostly positive. One negative review I read the guy seemed more like a dillhole and just wanted to give it a negative review. Most that I've seen seem to like it and says it's got a fresh feel to it.

FPS = First Person Shooter. Not a game, a game type.
FB3 = Battlefield 3. It is a war game first person shooter. It usually has lots of bad language. So, beware if it's for your son and he is young. Although, the Battlefield games are generally the best FPS War games on the market. Call of Duty is very popular, but Battlefield games are just better.
D3 = Diablo III. This game is PC only, but if it is anything like the other two. It's going to be HUGE. Youtube some of the videos for Diablo 3. The game even looks like it's going to kick ***.
Oblivion is like part three or four of the Elder Scrolls games. I wouldn't worry about Oblivion as the new version is coming out soon. It's single player only, but they make great games.
