So what am I missing?
Are they making fun that he listed 5% as the APR where most loans would be higher? Are they making fun that he is only paying $5 per month? I mean if so, those both look like test numbers to me.
When I am testing something, I always start with simple numbers for testing and then go higher into the extremes as I verify it is working correctly.
I know he failed on the "Forever a loan" as the loan would be paid off based on his parameters somewhere around 20-21 months.
Then again, perhaps I am missing something obvious.

I think it just struck me funny that the kid was trying to be a smart *** and totally failed the application.

He failed at programing by trying to input parameters without reading first, Annual != monthly, and getting the wrong output (forever a loan)
then second fail in the class for improperly applying the lesson she/he was trying to teach, and failing at that anyways.
So its kinda like a double fail with a triple fail twist. Pretty lol the more you think about it

I still don't get it beyond what I listed above. It says you need an input field for "annual percentage rate" and he has an input field called "rate" which I am sure he's treating as an annual percentage rate in his code. I do not see where he is treating "annual = monthly" ..

I have no idea what you are saying here.. honestly.
As I said, the only "fail" I see is that his program error'ed out incorrectly because the payments would pay of the loan in 20 or so months.
As a long time developer myself, I love good development humor especially when it comes at the expense of the programmer. I just only see the one error here and it really isn't all that funny to me. If he hadn't used the word "obvious" in his response, it would be nothing more than a common intro-to-cis mistake that a lot of new programmers make.
Again, I am really assuming I am missing something else.

This entire poster needs to be incorporated into a new poster with the caption: "Forced Humor: The fact that other people don't find it funny doesn't mean they don't get it."

On a serious note, being multilingual would be awesome.

I took a couple years of spanish and got basically nothing out of it.
By the end of my 3rd semester I was so fed up with spanish that I finished the requirements online and got even less out of it.
I could get by with what I know but would sound like a complete idiot because I have no concept of past and future tense in spanish.
I really want to learn another language but I don't want to learn Spanish any more at all.

I took French in high school, and got nothing out of it.
I then took four semesters of Latin in college. I enjoyed it, but it produced little benefit.

I took French from 7th grade through college. Can't speak a lick of it now.
I know some basics, and can vaguely understand some of it when it's spoken. But if I had to speak it, it'd be an insult to any native French speaker.
