Cowboys Add G Loper
Oct 18

PM CT By Todd Archer
IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys have added guard Daniel Loper to the 53-man roster to replace rookie wide receiver Dwayne Harris.
Loper, a Texas Tech-ex, was the second player the Cowboys signed after a Tuesday workout at Valley Ranch, joining Montrae Holland. The Cowboys have 10 offensive linemen on the 53-man roster and five wide receivers.

Never even heard of him. But we could use the depth. And if Harris goes to the practice squad I see no reason to hate this at all.

OK, I get it: the team needs O-line depth. That's fine.
But I don't get how a guy who actually contributes on special teams gets released instead of the kicker who isn't kicking -- especially since the team already has one kicker who IS kicking well and another kicker who could come off the PUP list soon.
This I do not get.

Daniel Loper - G - Cowboys
Cowboys signed OG Daniel Loper.
Loper was one of the Raiders' final cuts in September. He'll give the Cowboys another veteran option at guard in place of Bill Nagy, who is out for the season with a broken ankle.

They are still going to need to release another player tomorrow in order to make room for Bruce Carter so Beuhler might not be safe yet.

A Guard named Loper and a WR named Poots.
Who dreams this stuff up?

Any word on Dockery? Just trying to figure out who starts this weekend-- Dockery, Holland or Loper.

Oh, I get it, Buehler is returning punts now!
I vow to buy no more Cowboys products so long as Jerry Jones is the GM.

.......NEVER heard of the guy: but I'll tell you this: Oakland has a GOOD oline, so....he should be a upgrade from Nagy who basically sucked.

Are you sure about that? They would only have to cut someone if they move Carter to the 53 man roster tomorrow. They don't have to do that just yet.

The smart thing is to let Carter practice for the three weeks he's allowed before activating him.

Played at Texas Tech and was a 5th rd choice for the Titans a couple of years back.
This makes sense. So when Montrae is puking in the 3rd quarter because he is so winded Loper will come in and replace him!
