Anyone think we will trade up to get D.Johnson?
Personally, I think hes the best player in the draft for us. I would not suggest giving two firsts to move up, but maybe our #20 and a later round pick or maybe a future pick? Lets here your 2 cents

Id rather have 2 picks and get Merriman than just one for DJ. But if he falls to us, get him.

No there is a chance he falls to us anyway......If we get howard and DJ is gone at 11 I see us trading down...Unless someone llike Mike WIlliams or Rolle is there then you gotta take Rolle, Williams is a toss up........

I would loovve if DJ was there at 11. It would kinda be like how Steven Jackson fell last year.

I was stunned last year when I saw we traded our pick last year, but it worked out for the best.

The only player I would trade up for is Mike Williams and I'd rather not even do that. I'd rather trade down and add draft picks or stand pat and select the best player available.

I really do not think anything BP or JJ do during the draft would suprise me. Especially after last year.
With that being said I seriously doubt they would trade up for DJ. The only guy I think that would be possible for is Mike Williams. I think BP is very high on him!
Derrick Johnson though, I just do not see it.
He is definetly a good player, but his weaknesses are also what goes against Parcells usual likings in a LB.
DJ misses some tackles, and avoids contact at times.
Too much trying to run around blockers. He has to be physical and take them on. This question mark IMO is enough that I do not see BP trading up for him.

I don't think we will trade up to get anyone. Not D. Johnson, not Mike Williams, not Shawn Merriman, and not Braylon Edwards...and not anyone else either. We are far more likely to trade down in this draft than to trade up since the talent level is so equal for the first round or two.

I am dead set against us trading up for anybody. We need players and giving away draft picks isn't the way to get them. Without a 3rd and 6th rounder this year, I think we should trade down the #20 and try to get 4 day 1 picks.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
