Derrick Johnson Vs. Mike Williams Vs. Shawne Marrimen
People put your facts down which make these three players more of a contributer then each other and tell why would you choose them...
Derrick Johnson: A NICE BLITZER/BIG LINEBACKER
Mike Williams: BIG and tall Wide Receiver/ Acrobactic Catcher
Shawne Marrimen: Big Linebacker/ Is versitle between DE and Linebacker
I would take Mike Williams because in Dallas Cowboys case he could score touchdowns and be big down field threat, which we been missing since Michael Irvin..and M. Irvin even said hisself that Mike Williams should be a Cowboy...

Who say's Johnson is a "blitz/big linebacker?" I don't think he's either. If anything he has a reputation as a "run around the blocks" guy.
Merriman is versatile-- he probably won't do either well enough at the pro level.
I think it's Williams by default. He's put up big numbers.

If I had to choose between the three, it would be Mike Williams, but I doubt either of the three will be sitting at our #11 spot.

Johnson wasn't used extensively as a blitzer, but it doesn't mean he can't do it. In fact, I think he'll be the best rush LB in this draft if that's how he's used in the pros. He's just a physical phenomenon whose talents directly translate onto the field, unlike a workout warrior like Merriman.

Mike - Merriman is a 3-4 star - the only one in this draft
As for Williams I love him- not as much as Hostile but I would love to be able to get him at 11
as for Derrick Johnson - if your the fastest guy on the field are you gonna engage with each defender in front of you or are you going to run past him and grab the ball carrier etc- the guy is the next Derrick Brooks-
Is that not good enough for you?
PS- every 4-3 outside backer would prefer to run around the blocker- thats what they are supposed to do most of the time-not get blocked etc

I like Merriman best.
He's the biggest and strongest period. I'd rate him the 5th or 6th best player in this class. He is a point of attack guy with good speed. Goes through people moreso than around them. Needs to settle in at OLB in a 3-4 to meet potential. Similar player to Terrell Suggs but bigger and with less pass rush skill. Should remind BP of Carl Banks.
DJ next. I'd rate him 10-15. He is not a blitzer but he might have that potential. He needs lots of work on form. Has excellent athleticism and as a finesse player is by far best of that bunch. Reminds me of Jessie Armstead a great deal.
MW 3rd.
I think all 3 are worthy of a mid 1st at worst. MW showed me alot in his workout. He looked alot more agile and smooth then he did as a sophomore at USC. He can jump and is a playmaker but he always has struck me as a Burress redux. I still worry about his eventual size. He's a big guy by nature and could be more an h-back type in two years. On most teams that wouldn't matter but we already have Witten and our WRs are old.
I think any of the 3 could start next year and help the team but Merriman would help them where BP wants most. With the new secondary set to man cover we need a pressure RDE or ROLB.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

For me it depends on the Howard deal going thru or melting down.
I agree with BostonCowboy, all 3 will prolly be gone before we are on the clock.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I guess im the only one but I think that Darren Howard is overrated he's been injured like most of his short career and he's a high-priced D-End... don't think that Cowboys should get him he is poison....
We should trade La'Roi Glover and the 20th pick off to Indinapolis Colts for Dwight Feeney and their 1st Round.
or
We should trade La'Roi Glover to Jets for John Abraham and a draft choice and sign Chris Hovan who still is a free agent...

If chosing between those 3, it'd have to be DJ or Merriman if I was picking. I like MW, but the D needs more help IMO and D is still more important to winning championships than O.
If we went to a 3-4, it'd be Merriman. If we stayed 4-3, I'd put DJ at Will.

Merriman (20% chance of being there) > Williams (50% chance) > Johnson (75%) chance
I had an apartment and I had a neighbor, and whenever he would knock on my wall I knew he wanted me to turn my music down and that made me angry 'cause I like loud music... so when he knocked on the wall, I'd mess with his head. I'd say, "Go around! I cannot open the wall! I dunno if you have a doorknob on your side but over here there's nothin'. It's just flat."

I dont think MW is a downfield threat with his speed. Wasnt his longest TD like 40 yds (his last yr of college ball)? And how many downfield threats are mentioned as being TE or HBack candidates?? But remembering all the problems we had in the red zone makes me think thats where he could really be of value to us. Vinnies lack of TD passes wasnt all his fault. Guys gotta get open down there too.

Well, they really wouldn't be our facts that we are putting down, just our opinions.
I think DJ has the best chance of being here, Mike Williams second, and Merriman the least chance of being here. Note that in saying that I am speculating on which is most likely to actually drop to us.
Merriman is the fastest riser of the 3 because of his freak like pro day numbers. He could climb someone's draft charts in a big time hurry. It happens every year and I won't be shocked.
LBs usually drop and DJ is a true LB, therefore most likely to drop.
Williams may drop because of the year off, but I think based on his potential alone he will go higher than a lot of people expect. Someone will get a great weapon. Hope it's us, but realistically I don't think it will be.

We will see. Merriman is has extremely good chance of going at 3.
I had an apartment and I had a neighbor, and whenever he would knock on my wall I knew he wanted me to turn my music down and that made me angry 'cause I like loud music... so when he knocked on the wall, I'd mess with his head.
