Possible NFL rule changes for 2005 season...
Here is a link on the Dallas Cowboys homepage for some rule changes... It is in Spaznolas recent article... The one I really like is the one that changes pass interference penalties from the spot foul to a 15 yard penalty no matter how far the ball was chunked.
Also, check out the one they are proposing because of Roy Williams collar tackling from behind... Gotta be a badazz to have a rule especially for your own physicalities...

I don't believe in team motivation. I believe in getting a team prepared so it knows it will have the necessary confidence
when it steps on a field and be prepared to play a good game... Tom Landry

That would not be the only rule put into effect by cowboys "physicalities." Lets not forget Erik Williams with the hands-to-the-face call.
Or if you want to really dig, the 15 yard penatly for removing your helmet is all Emmitt's fault because after every touchdown he scored, off came the helmet.
That horse collar rule though is garbage, absolute GARBAGE. Thats like saying dont tackle. Its not the facemask, its not unnecessary roughnes, is it? I don't get that rule at all.

"Those plays have been misunderstood," McKay said. "What we're considering would allow for a recovery if replay shows the ball came out before the play was down - even if the whistle has blown."
With what the Competition Committee will propose, "the whistle would not be deemed to kill the play following the fumble," McKay said.

This is just more distaster in the making, IMO.
So, the whistle ends the play, unless the ball comes loose, but if it isn't really a fumble, even if the ball is loose, then it will be unneccessary roughness, but if you don't risk the penalty, you risk losing the ball ....
How do you coach that?
Play until the whistle, but then keep playing until ... ???

but the problem is, sometimes
1 the refs never blow the wistle
2 players keep playing anyways
3 where are you getting this unneccesary roughness from
4 the rule is only saying of the ball comes out the other teams recovers, but they say down by contact, then it is reviewable and if changed the ball can go to the other team

how about enforcing the Micheal Irvin rule (no offensive push offs) since the DBs can't touch a WR?
Oh yeah, we don't have a WR pushing off so they shouldn't enforce the rule until we do.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

The Deion Rule.
The Emmitt Rule.
The Erik Williams Rule.
Now, the Roy Rule?
When one of these rules is about a player on another team I may begin to believe the bias is ending. Ridiculous.

I'd love for Dallas to adopt the Denver blocking scheme on the OL, and then chop blocks will be outlawed next year.

The NFL averaged 43 points a game in 2004, the sixth highest total in the past 37 years. There was an average of 4.95 touchdowns a game, the second highest total since the strike-interrupted 1987 season

and what about the Darren Woodson "headhunting rule"?
Ronnie Lott became a superstar doing it, as a 'Boy, Woodson gets fined repeatedly for doing it.
