Same BAT mock, same BAT time
1st Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin - 6'5 315 Nasty blocker, mack truck in run game
2nd Bruce Irvin, OLB, WVU - 6'3 245 4.52 14 sacks as part timer in 2010 (2nd in nation); falls to 2nd b/c has not been as effective as starter
3rd Brandon Boykins, CB, Georgia - 5'10 185 4.40 A little on small side but the fastest of the elite corners, and an absolute playmaker with ball in his hands
4th Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis - 6'5 350 5.30 Monster in the middle who would fix Cowboys problems on short/goal line situations
5th Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame - 6'2 213 4.55 Faster than timed speed, super physical and has great instincts for the ball, another playmaker
6th Jake Bequette, DE/OLB, Arkansas - 6'5 270 4.62 Athletic for his size, great work ethic & leadership, frame to bulk up to DE
7th Christian Thompson, S, South Carolina St - 6'3 218 4.45 LB hitting ability & DB speed

very good mock.
Peter Konz, Brandon Boykin, Bruce Irvin, and Harrison Smith are all high on my list. I just don't think Boykin will last to the 3rd nor Poe lasting til the 4th.

Really love Bruce Irvin but I could see him falling or rising. I say that because I could see him tearing up the combine. But also looking at his role as a full time player this season and how he his production has fallen to the point of them making him a part time player again.
In his defense though they lost seven starters from last year on defense and it has definitely shown as our D has went downhill pretty far this season.
They guy is tailor made for a 3-4 OLB pass rusher though.
You might also want to look at Marshall's Vinny Curry as a pass rushing OLB in the pros...although I think he winds up going in the first. I think he might be better suited as a pass rushing DE in a 4-3

I agree, Boykin & Irvin may have to be swapped. Although 2012 draft will have a bounty of quality corners, so I could see a few really good ones (normally blue chippers in another draft year) with "flaws" like Boykin fall to 2nd and 3rd. As for Poe, he has not lived up to expectations this season. Memphis has not been a force against the run per pre-season expectations.

Love Irvin too, but his inconsistency is exactly why I'm not sure where to slot him. His athleticism and 2010 production screams first rounder, but his lack of size and production as a starter could have him fall to the 3rd.
He would be awesome as part of the Cowboys LB rotation.
Vinny Curry is a good one too, like you I think he goes in the first. And I'd rather have Konz.

2012 FA Additions:
NT: Ahtyba Rubin / Sammie Lee Hill
DE: Calais Campbell / Adam Carriker
#1 ILB Vontaze Burfict | 6'3 250 4.65 | Arizona State - Violence incarnate, nuff said
#2 OLB Ronnell Lewis | 6'2 244 4.54 | Oklahoma - nicknamed the "Hammer" b/c of devastating hits; played LB & DE; still raw as pass rusher so may push him to 2nd; will be a better pro (ST monster)
#3 CB/KR Brandon Boykin | 5'10 185 4.44 | Georgia - Lightning, especially w/ball in hands (D & ST); fastest of elite corners but deep CB draft & size concerns likely push to 3rd
#3 TE Ladarius Green | 6'6 240 4.64 | Louisiana-Lafayette - Lethal as a receiver; ultra productive in 2010 (All American); 7 TDs, 18 ypc; played hurt & not as productive in 2011 (trade 2012 pick for another 3rd)
#4 FS Harrison Smith | 6'2 215 4.55 | Notre Dame - Manti Te'o gets more publicity but Smith is playmaker; ballhawk and physical; intangibles
#5 OG Amini Silatolu | 6'3 330 5.46 | Midwestern State - Small school standout; Beast in power blocking scheme; was the star on OL that averaged over 200 yrds rushing/game; nasty & strong, surprisingly quick w/heavy hands
#6 OLB/TE Jake Bequette | 6'5 271 4.62 | Arkansas - Excellent speed for size; 7 sacks in 2010, 6 sacks in 2011 (injured for 4 games)
#6 OG Brandon Brooks | 6'4 343 5.32 | Miami (OH) - huge & athletic (supposedly timed a sub 5.0 40) & while oft injured, OL did not allow sack when he he was in game; well suited for power blocking scheme
#7 SS Christian Thompson | 6'1 218 4.45 | South Carolina State - can play either safety spot; physical & ultra athletic for size; Auburn transfer

I also would sign San Diego C Nick Hardwick in 2012. Guy is the acknowledged leader on Chargers' OL. Very smart & tenacious.

Good mock, but I have questions/comments:
1st Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin - 6'5 315 Nasty blocker, mack truck in run game
He has the medical condition (blood clots in his lungs). This would drop him out of the 1st round in my opinion. Might be a moot point since he probably won't declare for the 2012 draft anyways.
2nd Bruce Irvin, OLB, WVU - 6'3 245 4.52 14 sacks as part timer in 2010 (2nd in nation); falls to 2nd b/c has not been as effective as starter
Good value in the late 2nd; however, he is a WOLB (Ware's Position). The Boys probably want a SOLB (Spencer's position).
3rd Brandon Boykins, CB, Georgia - 5'10 185 4.40 A little on small side but the fastest of the elite corners, and an absolute playmaker with ball in his hands
Good pick if they don't get a CB earlier. They need a punt returner.
4th Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis - 6'5 350 5.30 Monster in the middle who would fix Cowboys problems on short/goal line situations
Does he have any passrush skills? He won't get many snaps unless he plays DE.
5th Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame - 6'2 213 4.55 Faster than timed speed, super physical and has great instincts for the ball, another playmaker
I don't see the Boys keeping a 5th round safety unless he really over-achieves in training camp or they consider Barry Church to be an ILB.
6th Jake Bequette, DE/OLB, Arkansas - 6'5 270 4.62 Athletic for his size, great work ethic & leadership, frame to bulk up to DE
Seems small for a 2-Gap DE. Can he play SOLB?
7th Christian Thompson, S, South Carolina St - 6'3 218 4.45 LB hitting ability & DB speed
Nice size/speed. You can probably slide a 7th rounder to the practice squad.
------
Again, nice mock, but I have questions/comments:
#1 ILB Vontaze Burfict | 6'3 250 4.65 | Arizona State - Violence incarnate, nuff said
I was dissappointed with Burfict in the game that I watched. I don't mind the crazy/violent attitude; however, he appears to take a lots of plays off.
#2 OLB Ronnell Lewis | 6'2 244 4.54 | Oklahoma - nicknamed the "Hammer" b/c of devastating hits; played LB & DE; still raw as pass rusher so may push him to 2nd; will be a better pro (ST monster)
I expect the Boys to be drafting in the late part of the round. Lewis should go late 1st or early 2nd.
#3 CB/KR Brandon Boykin | 5'10 185 4.44 | Georgia - Lightning, especially w/ball in hands (D & ST); fastest of elite corners but deep CB draft & size concerns likely push to 3rd
Again, good if CB is not picked earlier.
Can he block? Garrett will want an above average blocker.
#4 FS Harrison Smith | 6'2 215 4.55 | Notre Dame - Manti Te'o gets more publicity but Smith is playmaker; ballhawk and physical; intangibles
Does he beat out McCray in year one or do they keep 5 safeties?
#5 OG Amini Silatolu | 6'3 330 5.46 | Midwestern State - Small school standout; Beast in power blocking scheme; was the star on OL that averaged over 200 yrds rushing/game; nasty & strong, surprisingly quick w/heavy hands
The Boys already have mulitple developmental types at OG. They need a year one starter (i.e. 1st or 2nd round) IMO.
#6 OLB/TE Jake Bequette | 6'5 271 4.62 | Arkansas - Excellent speed for size; 7 sacks in 2010, 6 sacks in 2011 (injured for 4 games)
Excellent size/speed. Is that TE or DE?
#6 OG Brandon Brooks | 6'4 343 5.32 | Miami (OH) - huge & athletic (supposedly timed a sub 5.0 40) & while oft injured, OL did not allow sack when he he was in game; well suited for power blocking scheme
See comments on #5.
#7 SS Christian Thompson | 6'1 218 4.45 | South Carolina State - can play either safety spot; physical & ultra athletic for size; Auburn transfer
See comments on #4. Can probably slide 7th rounder to practice squad.
Nine picks and no QB?
No OG until the 5th?
Linebackers with the first 2 picks?

Nice way to rip a pretty good mock . By your guidelines , there won`t be a prospect worth drafting.

I'm not trying to "rip" it. Just trying to provide feedback. Why don't you show where you disagree.

My point is that any prospect has his faults . Wasting time questioning a 4th or 5th round pick on a mock is useless. Most of these late round picks will have major holes in their game (size , speed , etc) , but somebody has got to be picked .

I don't agree with all your takes, but I understand and appreciate what you're saying. Good feedback.
