Once again, I must have missed the section of the article where it says bringing in Howard will prevent the Cowboys from drafting and developing young talent.
I just keep missing that sentence.

Me too - And yes the deal will get done as Jerry was quoted at the meetings saying "WE ARE STILL INTERESTED IN HOWARD!"

At compensation being asked and Salary Howard asking this deal is not happening any time soon. I can see there being something to discuss after draft and after 6-1 and we see what we can get for no compensation!
Resticky this bad boy!

Nice idea, I wasn't even thinking of that.

I agree GG, a DH for lil Dat the Gnat, human speedbump is a no-brainer...
We need to bigger, better & tougher at that vital spot!
Dat NEVER makes any big plays from the Mike spot...Pretty much unheard of by a everydown LBer!

The Cowboys remain interested. The Cowboys are offering more than anyone else. If the Saints want to move him to free up that money they really have no choice in the matter it seems.
This has been one of the better personnel moves I've seen Jerry make. I felt like we wer ein too big a rush to add Keyshawn last year. The Bucs would have waived him and we could have moved Galloway for a draft pick.
The patience he is showing is really rebuilding my faith in him. Know when to hold'em, know when to fold 'em.
Whether we end up trading for Howard or not I give kudos to Jerry Jones for playing this exactly right in every turn.

In negotiations he who speaks first loses. Play them Jerry. But wouldn't this trade imply we stay with a 4/3 D? He said wonderingly.

Not to even mention the outlandish contract demands by Howard. Cold Shoulder? Great news and lets move on.

I agree Hostile it seems like they are really putting everything together thus far from coaching changes, taking a close look at draft prospects, getting the guys they targeted even if spending a bit more to land the for sure, playing hard ball with NO on the DH front and using leverage and using patience. I expect them to somehow maximize their draft picks and aquire some good, young players for us this year and maybe a pick for next year as well. I will suspend judgement until we see their draft moves but thus far ...GReat Job!!

Over the years with Parcells I've learned he's predictable. WHY PARCELLS DRIVES MIKI batty, run from the obvious. Remember the Stephen Jackson talk, what did we do? pass and trade down for Jules Jones!
Past what month now its been we are trading for Howard, Howard means 4-3. Haha stick it to Nors, who bye the way still feels we play both 3-4 and 4-3.
It was stickied, dropped, all hopes hinge on a move that was a misdirection the whole time. JJ done acted, uh hum good today. M proud uh hem er of em.
Well no trade done - Saints getting po'd at us! Cold Shoulder?
Because it was all a plot - to head full steam into draft hunting 3-4 parts
Freakin Bugs Bunny story line - great job Parcells! You can take a guy out of Jersey but you can't take the Jersey out of the guy.

JJ's cold shoulder is fine with us!!
The Vikings have recently showed intrest in the last week now the Raiders!!
The Raiders have apparently become the latest team trying to snag defensive end Darren Howard away from the Saints. Howard, whom New Orleans tagged as its franchise player this off-season, has been on the trading block with the Cowboys mentioned as the team most likely to acquire him. But Oakland has talked recently with New Orleans, dangling players such as its own franchise player CB Charles Woodson (who carries his own $10.5 cap number for 2005) or another disgruntled CB Phillip Buchanon (who would like to be traded). Word is the Saints would prefer to make a deal before the draft, in hopes of also adding another pick from this year's draft. If a Howard deal doesn't happen by the draft, the Saints plan on keeping him.

The Raiders are probably looking to move away from the 3-4. Sapp is not a DE. If Moss and Collins have chemistry a DE might be a key piece to their puzzle.
