I find it hard to believe that coaches DON'T "teach" this technique. It may be the PC thing to support this ban but behind the scenes, I have a feeling it's a different story for the coaches.

So what other "tackling techniques" should be banned?! I mean, why stop here?! I'm sure there are things that can be outlawed. The league might as well adopt the "Deion Sanders tackling technique". That way, no one gets hurt ever again.....

When I first read about the proposal, my first reaction was that it was BS too......

But when a certain action causes injury after injury, something should be done......but, of course the over-whelming reaction here is that it's a ****ty rule aimed to hurt the Cowboys........

People are complaining that it's football, and let them play and it might as well be flag-football and stuff like that....

So let's loosen the rules to your liking.....facemasks? Perfectly legal. Spearing? Encouraged! Late Hits? Bonus's written in contracts for them. Chop Blocks? an official NFL stat, which becomes the main criteria for Pro Bowl selection.

And about Jones not backing his boy???? What happens next year when the maneuver is not addressed?? Can't you see any other defenders attempting some sort of revenge against the Cowboys for Roy continuously injuring players in this manner. I'd bet Jerry, Bill and all the fans would love to see Brian Dawkins taking down Julius Jones in this way....BAM...out for the year. I bet the tackle wouldn't seem so right then though.

People need to take a step abakc and look at what is good for the league (keeping players on the field by not subjecting them to unnecessary injury risks) and not just get your guard up because "the NFL has a conspiracy against the Cowboys:.

I agree with the rule. FOUR injuries, people... All done by Roy Williams with the same exact technique. Something's got to be done. So please, look at the facts before you go retarded ape****.

I agree with Jerry. No offense, but some of you guys need to look at things from a non-bias way. Yesterday i was flamed for feeling this way, yet why does the majority of NFL world feel the same way? If Taylor of the Redskins was doing this...everyone here would be in agreement with that
Not even close bro - Its football, not fagball! Jerry, wake up! give your head a shake!!! Heres the solution - if your ***** *** wr's catch the ball near to Roy go down fast or theres gonna be a big hurt put on ya!

How many 235/240 pound safeties play in the NFL? How many can run like Williams? When you have this size and speed ratio meeting up with a WR, your going to have injuries. You can outlaw this tackle but injuries are going to happen. If you want to get rid of the injuries, then you have to get rid of the people who have this type of Size/Speed/Strength combiniations.

It's a rough business. The players associated with it get paid well. It's there choice to suit up. Where's the problem here?

How long has the NFL been around,50 plus years?

And there still changing rules,BS.... so everytime a special player comes into the leage and can do something thats never been done before thats to they're advantage there going to change the rules to handicap that player and make him average!!!!

My question is this, then why draft a special player if he's not going to be allowed to be special?

All rules changes implimented by the NFL are not good for the league. There have been so many rules implemented, of late, that it has (IMO) hurt the product. I, as a fan, don't like to watch as much NFL as I used to. I'm to the point where I only watch the Cowboys these days. Used to be, I watched everybody because I enjoyed it. Now, not so much.

I think it is you who should consider all sides. This league is built on fan base. If your fans are not enjoying the product, then there's a problem. Just because the NFL indorses a rule does not make it a good one.

I think it also puts an undue burden on the officals when they are constantly dealing with the changes. College football has it right "If it is not broke don't fix it"

I'll go with this rule change.
But as for Dawkins catching Julias from behind...
No way that happens.

That's a discrimination that can't do that to Roy Williams. He could appeal that. What I don't understand is Jerry Jones jumping in all of this and putting his own player limits of playing out of the window...,hmmm this reminds me, he drafted Quincy Carter, Quincy began to play as a scrambling Quarterback, but Quincy first season game lost with a 14.5 Quarterback rating, a 9 for 19th 34.7%,and what jerry jones do after the Raiders game? Got Jerry Jones to change his ability of playing...."WHY?"-jada kiss

What gets me is some are acting like these offensive players are some fragile china doll, these guys are well conditioned athletes and strong as a horse and can be very difficult to bring down.

Lol and I bet if someone Like say Sean Taylor used this technique (on say J. Jones, blowing out his knee for the year) you would all be over him like White on Rice.

Its a tackle that has a high high chance to injure people. Criticisizing the league for trying to limit injuries is just proposterous

Its not the end of the world, RW will adjust. Im sure he has other techniques in his arsenal.

simple question.....why is no one here complaining about the 'George Foster' rule??

he made a perfectly legal cut block on DT-Tony Williams of the Bengals and put him out for the rest of the year.....similar to what happened MULTIPLE times with Roy's tackles. Now they want to make a rule against this type of block. WHY??

It's only 1 injury, not 4? It only helps protect defensive players, so why do it?? It does nothing to single out the Cowboys, so why is the NFL bothering???
