The team definitely needs a backup RB that can start if needed. Round 1 and 2 is too early, but if they acquire a 3rd or starting in 4, they better start looking. I don't really care for anyone on the roster and Julius has yet to show he can play a full season.

There is no runner in this draft I would draft at eleven. Given what we know in terms of value of the players coming out, as well as what our needs are, we have bigger fish to fry and more pressing holes to fill. A second viable option at running back would be a very nice addition to this roster, but those can be had much later in the draft.
We simply would not be maximizing the value of our first pick if we went running back. The Cowboys must get as much out of these picks as humanly possible. This draft is a golden opportunity for this club to collect quality talent to be used in key positions of need.
Personally, I would not be using either first on a player who would, at best, be in a platoon role as a runner.

Dallas probably will draft a running back in the 4th round.

so what your saying is every rookie that gets a hurt in his first season should ahve teams looking for a replacment because he has yet to prove he can play a full season, scratch the fact he came in and ran for more than double the yards our leading back had, scratch teh fact that he is only a rookie, lets go find another guy , cause this guy is a bust right, yea well if BP followed your logic we would be right there with redskins at the bottom of the division

No he saying we need someone who could be a good back up to Julius, cuz you never know if or when he will get hurt again... Its called having depth... It doesnt have to be a high round RB, cuz more than likely they wanna be "The Man". And plus, you gotta remember they are in a league where one year a guy will have a break out season, and next they are back down to earth (Anthony Thomas comes to mind). I doubt it will happen to Julius, but you just need a guy who can come in and take a load off of Julius. The last thing we want is for him to have 30+ carries every game this year.

I understand I was just saying that thats what he was probably refering to(depth)... not that Julius can't play

Agreed, sir. I don't want to find out if Julius can tote the mail 350 times this season. It's been done nine times total in the past three seasons. Odds are, we are going to need a decent second option at running back - something along the lines of a guy who can carry 10-15 times during the course of a game. That would be the ideal scenario IMHO.
Of course we want to see Julius be the man and he is definitely the numero uno running back for the Dallas Cowboys going into training camp. But we must must must have these types of contingencies in place and ready to go. I don't care if Julius is as durable as Emmitt Smith was in his heyday or as fragile as the glass Correll Buckhalter. Gotta have something viable behind Jules.
The good thing is, runners can be got fairly easy and throughout the draft.

No, C-Bong is a no class, pot smoking (you know he does), TV stealing, authority rejecting, dreadlock wearing loser of a human being.

Emmitt carried the ball in the pros about 4,000 times before he got his shoulder broke and I think Julius made it about 6 carries. This guys takes too many hard shots to ever be as durable as Smith. I hope he proves me wrong.

You'd think with Benson being high and carrying a TV the aggies could have stopped him.

Honestly, that has nothing to do with me not liking him. He is just a very dishonorable human being, he will turn out like Randy Moss and Ricky Williams.

I'd love to have Cedric Benson as a Cowboys. It just won't happen though. We won't go RB unless he falls to #20, then I can see Parcells picking him up, if for nothing else trade bait. . .
