Default DMN: Ronde Barber: Cowboys' Laurent Robinson is a 'matchup problem'

Cornerback Ronde Barber has started every game this millennium for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 15-year veteran has been particularly surprised by one of the Cowboys wide receivers he has studied on film this week - Laurent Robinson.

Barber referred to Robinson on Wednesday as "a matchup problem for us."

Barber said he vaguely remembers playing against Robinson from the time the receiver spent with the Atlanta Falcons back in 2007 and 2008.

Robinson caught seven passes against the Bucs for 106 yards in three games.

"You don't expect to see what you see on film from a guy nobody else wanted," Barber said about the Cowboys free-agent pickup from the San Diego Chargers. "It's pretty impressive."

Not nearly as much as Robinson has been this year. For some reason Dez gets handled and even Austin gets handled.

Maybe that helps Robinson a lot but he an Romo just GOT IT. The Romo/Robinson connection is awesome when its on.

Love the kid. Hope we get him locked UP!!

Go to work for him Romo. Get your guy!

How quickly some forget around here..

But yes, Robinson is definitely going to be a matchup problem for teams from here on out because he has starter talent playing as our 3rd WR. Whether we line him up on the outside or in the slot, the other team is going to have matchup problems to deal with IF our OL can hold up long enough to give Romo time to throw.

That's a huge if though.

a lot of that has to do with the coverage each player gets. Not taking anything away from Robinson - i love what he's done this season - but let's not get carried away.

Robinson is a classic example of a player blooming a little later...

Everybody says he is taking advantage of the attention being paid to others in coverage, but I'd like to see how often this has been true. How has he done as the only WR, with one other WR, with Witten in blocking vs. out on a route, etc. ...?

WTH is it that some forget so quickly? If you're hinting at something, you may be the only one that gets it.

I was responding to a poster who was insinuating that Robinson is the only WR on our team who doesn't get "handled".. as if he doesn't remember how dominant of a WR Miles usually is when healthy.
