Default Steelers' Harrison upset with no-call for Cowboys' Elam

Though Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison did not have a stake in Saturday night's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the recently suspended defender found reason to protest one play.

With two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Cowboys safety Abram Elam lowered his shoulder into the chest of Buccaneers wide receiver Micheal Spurlock as the ball sailed by. No penalty was called on the play.

Harrison, whose one-game suspension for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Browns quarterback Colt McCoy was upheld Friday, took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with the lack of a penalty.

1st of all the receiver was looking at Elam at the time of the hit. 2nd he didn't lead with his helmet. That said, I was surprised there was no flag even though I wouldn't have called one either.

I have to admit, this was the first time in a long time where I thought the officials were giving the cowboys a break on some calls. This one in particular I expected the flag to come out, but it never did.

I guess that is what happens when you play one of the few teams in the NFL that actually racks up more penalties on average than the cowboys.

You can also tell that Elam actually pulled up a little bit, he could have really walloped that WR.

And yes, like others said, he led with the shoulder.

Looks like Goose might have been right last week about earning the official's respect when you're a penalty prone team.

He may be. And if he is, what he said describes "bias" perfectly. Call it the same for everybody.

I wish Harrison would get kicked out of the NFL. He's a piece of crap.

Apples and oranges.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
