A close friend of mine that works for the Vikings says they fear now it's a identical injury to that Willis McGahee suffered at Miami when he tore his ACL, PCL and MCL.

An MRI confirmed that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against the Washington Redskins on Saturday, the team announced. Vikings coach Leslie Frazier will update reporters Monday at his press conference at 11:30 a.m. ET. if it is just the ACL he should be fine. If he had destroyed it, that is a whole nother matter. Now of course he is more of a power back then a dancer so that helps as well.

A full ACL tear for a RB isn't good news. That doesn't mean that he can't come back and be a good player, but he needs to be a great player.
Even with surgery, he might lack a bit of the burst. |
