Default Adrian Peterson

Looks like torn ACL per Jay Glazer. Hate to see that happen. Hope he makes full recovery.

I'll be shocked if he's ready to go by Game 1. That looked nasty.

A close friend of mine that works for the Vikings says they fear now it's a identical injury to that Willis McGahee suffered at Miami when he tore his ACL, PCL and MCL.

Yeah, I saw Jay Glazer say that too on the postgame. With the McGahee reference.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I didn't think of that but I'll bet your right.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Default MRI confirms Vikings RB Adrian Peterson tore ACL vs. Redskins

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d..._breaking_news

An MRI confirmed that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against the Washington Redskins on Saturday, the team announced.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier will update reporters Monday at his press conference at 11:30 a.m. ET.

The Vikings lost Peterson and starting quarterback Christian Ponder to injuries over a span of several minutes in Saturday's loss.
Answer for this off-season: Assemble an elite offense.

Will they draft Trent Richardson now? That might be a career changer for AP.

Terrible news. Hope he can recover. This guy was on his way to becoming one of the greatest running backs of all time.

Damn that sucks.

Not to be insensitive to his injury, but it's worth mentioning how special Emmitt's record really is when you think about the wear and tear running backs take.

if it is just the ACL he should be fine. If he had destroyed it, that is a whole nother matter. Now of course he is more of a power back then a dancer so that helps as well.

No way is he ready by week 1.

A full ACL tear for a RB isn't good news. That doesn't mean that he can't come back and be a good player, but he needs to be a great player.

Even with surgery, he might lack a bit of the burst.
