UDFA at best. Bring him in and let him try out. You never know. Might have someone like Vince Papale.

I remember when the recruiting gurus had brown rated higher than Trent Richardson coming out of high school. I realized then he was all hype because he was not that big and played against a low level of competition.
He and his brother (who was a lber a year older) are two of the most overrated, overhyped recruits to come out in years!
He was never as good as advertised and had all kinds of attitude issues, handler issues, etc.
I wouldn't touch him even as a fa.

His youtube video looks pretty good to me, looks like he brings the load. Looks like a decent receiver too. If this guy has his life straightened out I have no issues picking him up later in the draft. Most of the late round picks are are crapshoots anyway.

I have a feeling his next signing bonus will be his lowest one.

He has decent but not great speed for a RB (mid 4.4s would be my guess).

He has decent vision on those runs - they aren't all daylight type runs.

He can make moves between the first and second levels which not everyone can in that tight of a space. He runs under decent control in hole.

He has a lot of agility to scrape through small holes but doesn't have elite balance.

He has some power and is willing to put this shoulder down and run through a LB or Safety when he needs a yard. On one of his earlier goal line runs he ran through two people for the TD.

He is a very good receiver. He can run downfield routes, he can catch the ball cleanly on the move and he is excellent at catching swing passes.

I see a kid with a lot of talent. I'd be happy to invest a 6th or 7th rounder here. Most such picks never make it in the league and he might not either but he definitely has big league ability. I don't know if he can overcome his mental issues to become a quality player but he didn't flame out because he is overwhelmed by the talent at the collegiate level. He was a step above most of the other guys on the field even as a freshman.

He actually reminds me quite a bit of Jamaal Charles who probably should have been drafted in the first round (my pet cat from the 2008 draft along with Ray Rice).

If he can get his head on straight he has a ton of ability - first round ability, IMO. He could have been the second RB drafted if he had stayed in school and played up to his ability.

I wonder what his body is like now 2.5 years later - he should have filled out a bit if he kept on training.

one factor in his favor is the very low mileage. So many RBs come out with up to 1000 carries already before the pros. A back only has so many in him.

Yes, the classic version of that was Marion Butts who never even started for the Florida St. Seminoles before becoming a Pro Bowl RB.

It is nice that he hasn't had the pounding but the downside is we don't know his body holds up against pounding week after week.

He is defnitely a high risk pick if anyone wants to make the investment but this isn't the case of an athlete trying to play football. This guy was once a great football player - it is obvious on the film that he had a lot of ability.

Is he a better prospect than Maurice Clarett?

Clarett had no speed (4.8 40 yard) and let himself get seriously out of shape after being suspended.

He just didn't have a good NFL skill set for the next level and combined with a poor work ethic he didn't last long in the league.
