Green-Beckham UT Visit
Top recruit Green-Beckham lining up official visits
Green-Beckham’s recruitment has been one of the biggest secrets of recent recruiting years. His family doesn’t want it to become a circus, so they rarely provide status updates. In fact, Green-Beckham basically slipped into Austin last week for an official visit with the Longhorns. Not many people knew about it until he was recognized sitting next to one of Texas’ top recruits, RB Johnathan Gray.
“He’s a real chill dude,” Green-Beckham said of Gray. “I hung out with him a little bit while I was out there and I like being around him. He’s outgoing, he’s funny and he just likes to have fun. You can just talk football with him. We talked about having a great high school career. His rushing has been amazing. He said he’d been hearing a whole lot about me, and we talked a whole lot about the game of football.”

Rumors are circulating that Beckham has narrowed his choices down to Texas and Arkansas. I have not seen this confirmed as yet but apparently this steams from a news report circulated last night out of Arkansas.

It's possible. I would love to see him go to Texas but I would laugh all day watching TAMU getting beat to death by this kid in the SEC.

Does Texas have anyone to get him the ball?

Assuming all stays as is currently projected:
David Ash QB Soph.
Case McCoy QB Jr.
Connor Brewer QB Fresh.
Jalen Overstreet QB Fresh.
2013 could be another story.

it would have helped if Wilson had left for the draft today.
i really think the qb situation is the only thing keeping him from coming to Austin.
hopefully he realizes Wilson is there for only one more year and then he is looking at some marginal backups throwing him the ball.
50/50 toss up btw Arkansas and Texas. i won't count us out b/c mack is a closer when it comes to in home visits.

According to reports, Arkansas' Bobby Patrino will not be making his final In Home Visit with DGB. Patrino has apparently been reported to the NCAA for possible recruiting violations with regards to DGB.
Mack Brown of Texas is scheduled to meet with DGB today for UT's final In Home Visit.

It will be Tim Horton, and at least one other.

This is about the funniest recruitment I've seen in awhile.
Missouri thinks it's down to just them and Arky. I'm not even sure Mizzou is in his final list. He didn't mention them.
OU thinks they are still in it and I don't think that Beckham has even mentioned them in months.
Arky, I think, was in the drivers seat but may have kinda screwed the pouch.
Texas seems to be the only school that thinks they are on the outside looking in.
I guess we'll see.

I don't think this Petrino thing has any negative effect. He didn't commit any recruiting violation, but he may have possibly been if he went to visit DGB tonight, which is why he isn't going.

That is not confirmed. He may have committed a violation. Coaches are not supposed to make contact with recruits during the Under Armor game. If the NCAA defines this as incidental, then there is no violation. If the NCAA does not, then it is. Either way, this does not help Arkansas.
