Default Jan 18 Mock

#14 Melvin Ingram, OLB, South Carolina[

#45 Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia

#83 Michael Brewster, C, Ohio State

#114 Tank Carder, ILB, TCU

#145 Travian Robertson, DE/DT, South Carolina

Tues: Probably the best defensive lineman in practice. Looks athletic, quick but also strong. Holds his ground and on several occasions beat blocks and made his opponent look bad

#176 Rishaw Johnson, OG, Cal (PA) 6-3 #310

Tues: Johnson looked powerful all day and was the best offensive linemen from the East. He handled everyone he lined-up against showing terrific power and blocking with outstanding fundamentals

Cal-Pennsylvania product, who started his college career at Mississippi, looked dominant all day. He's mechanically sound and athletic, and overpowered everyone that lined up against him. Defenders were stopped dead in their tracks once Johnson got his hands on them. The small-school lineman really elevated his stock in front of scouts

6 Chandler Harnish, QB, Northern Illinois

#207 Marvin Jones, KR/WR, California

Very solid looking draft. Although I like Ingram I would rather them go for Nick Perry or Whitney Mercilus in the first. Everything else looks good though.

I am not impressed with Mercilus.....I see him being a Gholston type player on the NFL level.

Looks like one to keep an eye on. Great added feature on your mock, btw.

Ingram, Perry or Brockers will be the pick at 14. I think they may view Brockers similiar to Smith last year. Upside is tremendous and I really think the JG and JJ view this as a 3 year process. 2012 starts year 2.

Brockers and Minnifield give us two sound building blocks for the future.

DBOY3141 would be happy with Brockers and Minnifield but I have asked in another thread with no response yet. But isin't Brockers similar to Marcus Spears when he came out ?

interesting. I want to know this too. Big Bill almost drafted spears ahead of ware if jerry didn't step in (i guess he is good for something ).

From what I remember and now see with my own eyes Spears has always had the talent, but his motor tends to run in first gear from time to time....Brockers apparently has great work ethic and a desire to be great.

I see Brockers having more pass rush ability and more heart. You can't teach heart.

Coples is this year's Spears. Talent but no drive.

The kid is really raw, however. If we take him it should be on the understanding that we can't expect much contribution from him his rookie season. He'll need some time to develop.

IIRC Spears was a better pass rusher in college . If Brockers had shown more pass rushing
ability , I could understand the fuss about him . I have watched several LSU games , and Brockers never came across as the pass rushing threat that Dallas needs .

Default That's kind of what I'm getting at......

If we don't take DeCastro than probably will go Defense. Unless we take a Cornerback if we go DL or OLB than they better have darn good Pass Rushing Skills because that's what we are lacking. I don't want to Draft a DE that's simply another stop the Run, hold his ground DL....I want someone who wrecks havic on the opposing QB......like a Charles Haley !!! otherwise we might as well stick Spears over there !!!

spears also has questionable work ethic. Remember big bill calling him chubby checkers n etc. Questionable work ethic and a poor motor is why spears didn't blossom into a passrushing threat.

This is the point that so many of us are trying to make . There are no prospects at 14 that would be a big updrade over Spencer as a pass rusher .
