"...causing overdosing"????

When now did Irvin supposedly do this 'overdosing'?

BTW...Clarett will be lucky to even get drafted if you ask me.

Attempting to compare a troubled, slow, former college RB one-year wonder two years removed from playing organized football to any current or former All-Pro caliber NFL players (no matter how many drugs they did or people they killed) is a huge reach in my opinion.

Claretts status has little to do with his lying to police. He's just not that good of a prospect. Mike Williams came out too early and is still a high 1st rder .Clarett just isnt that good of a player. Plus, hes obviously one of the laziest SOB's ever to run a 4.8 for the combine then turn around and run a middle 4.6 a short while later. Clearly he was just sitting on his fat you know what when he should have been getting in the best shape of his life .He led his team to a Natl Championship? So did Jason White , where's he ranked???

Somebody will use a 6th or 7th on him. His name alone should guarantee at least that. I'd pass.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Well, I don't know really what you're up to, but I voted for the player who would win you two rings. In fact, I can't think of a player that I wouldn't sign if you guaranteed me two Superbowl rings from it.

Speaking of beating your wife! What do you say to your wife when she has 2 black eyes? Nothing you already told her twice!

I bet everyone on this board would jump for joy right now if we traded our 4th round pick for Ray Lewis.....
The guy is a complete punk as it is.

How do you think he'll act with a wallet full of cash?

No way.

Are these the ONLY issues with these players or are there other things you are not telling us? For instance did the 18 year old have other issues of showing a lack of mental toughness, or quitting, or being lazy, or showing other signs of immaturity which would indicate that he was likely to be a bust at the Pro level?

Nice try to spin one for Clarett but I'm not biting. I would rather have 4 high quality, High Character players and let these guys all go play for the Raiders.

Again... after seeing how hard that a Quincy lover is shilling for the guy only suggests to me that Clarrett may be worse then even I anticipate.

As far as I am concerned, Quincy Carter is the worst thing that ever happened to the Dallas franchise. He did nothing but cause problems and allowed us to squander three years of the organizations time. Anyone who looks upon him fondly does so for some reason that I can't fathom. To see that same person begging for a different player makes me think this new player might just be a cancer, too.

Give me good character players. I'll pass on the Quincy Carters and Maurice Clarretts of the world.

I was going to ask this same question myself. Still waiting for an answer.

I was wondering about this one myself. Though these people were ostensibly hypothetical players it was obvious that this was a thinly veiled reference to Irvin, but Irvin never OD'ed that I heard of. So far as I know he was never even actually addicted to coke; he was just an occasional user. He hung out and snorted coke with some hookers; just a little good ole unclean fun. Mind you I am not trying to excuse his actions I'm just putting them in perspective.
