NFL Comparisons for Draft Prospects.
one of my favourite things to do before the draft is to look at who the draft prospects are compared to in terms of current NFL players. I know it's meaningless and more of a matter of opinion, but it's interesting to see who the "experts" see the prospects as being similar too...
some of this years I found:
D. Johnson - Kendrell Bell (in game), Boss Baily (physically)
B. Edwards - Chris Chambers
M. Williams - Keyshawn (i think he's a bit faster, but good comparison)
A. Rolle - Marcus Trufant
S. Merriman - Terrell Suggs, John Abraham
M. Spears - Michael Strahan (WHAT? I think not)
T. Williamson - Ashley Lelie
M. Clayton - Hines Ward, Steve Smith/Troy Brown
A. Barron - Walter Jones
E. James - Simeon Rice
D. Pollack - Patrick Kerney
Just a few names we are often conneted to, or would be interested in.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

Of course Pollack has to be compared to Kerney, cuz they're both white. It's not possible that a white person's abilities can be compared to the abilities of a black person.
Dang that gets annoying. It's like "Hey a tall WR... he reminds me of Ed McCaffrey".
/end rant.

What get me is the unending comparisons between players simply because they went to the same university.
The clincher for me was when I heard someone say that Merriman reminded them of Randy White. I suppose because they both went to Maryland.

I often see Demarcus Ware compared to Jason Taylor. I guess its two undersized upfield speed rushers coming from small schools.

D. Johnson - Roy Williams if he played LB
B. Edwards - David Terrell, maybe a little more NFL potential but nearly the same WR in college
M. Williams - Roy Williams, I think MW will have similar rookie impact
A. Rolle - he's bigger than Trufant and more of a playmaker, Antoine Winfield if he plays CB. Both make plays, great in run support, always around the ball.
S. Merriman - a freakish athlete that may or may not be a great NFL football player
M. Spears - something between Julius Peppers and Leon Lett, Kenechi Udeze?
T. Williamson - Nate Burleson
M. Clayton - Hines Ward, Steve Smith/Troy Brown yes but Terry Glenn also with better RAC and less frequently injured
A. Barron - Flozell Adams with quicker feet?
E. James - Terrell Suggs, risk factor-wise
D. Pollack - Grant Wistrom, undoubtedly
Jonathan Goddard - S Merriman with more collegiate production
J Bullocks - Ed Reed
Poole - Burnt Toast
A Perkins - Dante Hall PR, very average CB. Maybe he should try FS?
Nugent - Grammatica minus the annoying behavior
Maurice Clarett - grocery store stockboy
B Parcells - manboobs
Jerry Jones - Donald Trump plus Joan Rivers' face stretching and surgeries
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

DJ reminds me of Urlacher... both athletic and fast side line to side line... long frame and arms... big play potential, but doesn't take on blocks well...
Barron - Chris Samuels... up and down player that lacks passion... looks the part, but doesn't always play that way...
Spears - Lett does nice, but I'm not sure he's that talented... Kevin Williams, maybe...

You could make arguments about those you have chosen, but then again who knows how it turns out.
However one thing on there that I find WAY off base....Mike Williams - Alvin Harper.
Now if you want to say he will only ever be a #2 WR...then I could see the argument....but he is not in the same mold as Harper....Harper was the speed and deep threat guy, Williams is not that guy.
Ok...carry on.
