Unfortunately it may be a deal with AZ, because #15 to #8 is 450 points which is the value of pick #46, and we all know how Bidwell is always willing to trade down.

There was more talk this AM that Surtian to the Chiefs is immenent. There's enough smoke there to delcare that there must be somefire. I don't know if the Cheifs are looking for another Cb after that or not.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

Dallas East is...
Nice Post. I absolutly agree that this is pretty damn close to what will happen. Based on the current events, this makes sense.

Hate to be the one to break this to you.....but if a trade were to happen involving swapping #11 for #16 and Howard.....it would be the Cowboys who would have to add additional compensation, not the Saints. Maybe the #11 and a 4th rounder might get that done.

The Saints are not going to give up Howard to move up 5 picks in a VERY weak draft.
The Saints have been quoted to say they do not believe there is a linebacker in the draft that is worth a 1st round pick. Haslett has been quoted in saying he doesn't like Johnson or Merriman at all.
Sorry guy, its not going to happen.

You are stuck with his Franchise tag - move along as Howards demands are so outrageous there will be no trade offers. You been robbed!

Dallas East: Let me see if I have it right- Dallas would swap first rounders with NO (the equivalent to Dallas giving up a 3rd according to the points formula) and in return we get Howard and the added bonus of swapping 2nds and a 3rd? While I would absolutely love that trade, there is no way I can see it happening.

That about sums it up. It's a long shot that hinges on the Saints' desire to land a top-notch LB through the draft. Just generating some conversation on a topic which I believe is very important between now and the first day of the draft.

There are about 6 teams right now interested in trading for Howard..... Trust me Dallas isn't the only game in town..... We will get fair market value for him and some team, probably Dallas will give it to get him.

I think Dallas is willing to give fair-market trade... the problem is that NO will get nothing for him if they decide not to franchise him again next year... and we know this...
If Howard will work out a fair contract, Dallas will pull the trigger... and all parties will be happy...

You are desparate - No team is going to bail you out of the rediculous Salary Howard is on your books for!
You are phishing with Dallas interested. It was all overhype. Agent talked to Dallas - they never called him back. Saints made trade demands - Parcells turns the cold shoulder and won't even talk per your GM.
There is no Howard Trade - we don't have a 3rd and a 6th. We sure as heck aren't trading a #1 or #2 to line up and pay a 29 year old DE $16M SB and 6 year $35M Contract.
Especially with Pryce about to hit free agent market!
Draft is fast approaching!

Saints blundered. You don't Franchise non All Pro's and pay them $9M Guaranteed dollars. Howard doesn't have to be reasonable to renegotiate with anyone. In fact I have read he likes it in NO.

While this is true, I'm sure he would rather work out a long-term guaranteed deal and take less per year...
If he gets injured this coming season, this would be his last paycheckr in the league...

I'm interested to understand why so many think this is such a weak draft. In fact, this is a very strong draft. Not a great number of immediate impact players at the top but probably 4 rounds deep in quality players that could start in time. That's not the norm for the NFL draft. Generally, 3 rounds is considered pretty good for starting players taken in the draft.
